THE MOVING IMAGE: A HISTORY OF VIDEO IN ELT by BEN GOLDSTEIN
Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers (HKFEW) and Cambridge University Press are jointly organizing an author seminar – The moving image: a history of video in ELT.
Technological advancement has continually challenged the traditional education scene. With the popularity of smartphones and tablets, our young learners are exposed to visual stimuli anytime anywhere. Effective interaction with today’s YouTube Generation has undoubtedly become educators’ top priority.
From the BBC’s crash course Follow Me in the 70s to the 90s concept of “Active Viewing” and today’s You Tube Generation, how has the role of video changed in the last 50 years? This personal journey will trace how the moving image has moved on and analyse the part it may play in the classrooms of the future.
Event Details Date: 16th March 2015 (Monday) Time: 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Venue: Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers Centre (17/F, Bright Way Tower, 33 Mongkok Road, Kowloon)
To confirm your attendance, please complete the online registration form or fax the reply slip to 3580 2851 by 12 March 2015.
